The Christmas shopping season is here at last. We at soapscrub believe it is essential to discover products that will accomodate those who suffer sensitive skin complaints. The use of cocnut oil in the ingredients is obviously a big factor with its natural oils, and we recommend unscented bath oils, like this gift set from Abahna.

Soap Ingredients

The saponification process is as scientific as we get. In the world of natural soaps, there are a major influx of soap ingredients, and at soapscrub, we want to uncover soap myths. The ingredient Lye features in this process but is not on the ingredients list of hand soaps, because it mixes with fat to produce natural soap. It is a mysterious component of the process, though is actually quite dangerous. This is quite interesting as we always associate soaps as a natural bathing product yet a chemical is used in the process.
It creates the right base conditions and pH levels for sensitive skin.

Bathing Tips
There are many reasons for bathing, mainly to keep clean but bathing serves other purposes. In many cultures, a simple soak in the bath tub is sufficient to keep healthy and fresh. Cold bathers are said to do so because it can be effective in increasing metabolism rate. Bathing is to have a quick cold bath.
Of course, the advantages of a warm bath are well known, however sensitive skin can be effected by over bathing. Wrinkly fingers are quite common when taking too long in the bath, so it is recommended to spend no longer than 20 minutes ion a warm bath. That is plenty time to soak with bath oils and natural soaps.

Are They Natural Soaps
Soap giant Unilever suffered some irreparable damage when their all natural campaign was proven to be based on palm oil taken from deforested land. This was re-ignited in the news as Brazil’s government have now declared intentions to take measures to prevent further damage to the rainforests.
The larger impact for the soap community means it is easier to get the right ingredients that are environmentally aware, and equally are effective for those with sensitive skin! At soapscrub we source natural coconut oil which is unrefined, and are aware of where our palm oil has come from! These are both cholesterol free and completely natural bathing products, providing additional benefits for soap scrubbers!
We are delighted with our latest collection of all natural soaps, displayed like this how can you resist!

Christmas Gift Market
This year more than any other, my gifts need to be gift wrapped, to save time. Looking online for some ideas, it is clearly important to find the right gift for the loved ones who will benefit from my time-saving idea. It is better now to mix and match products in the gift set. I need some hand soap, bath foam and a few extras to indulge the recipient. I love these hand packed, and gift wrapped sets.

Natural Bathing Knowledge Nuggets
October 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment
There is an intrinsic link between nature and cleansing. Old wives tales of people using sugar as a soap to scrub away excess oil and lemon juice to add essential oils to the skin are important components of the soap makers legacy. They must lay claim to using 100% natural ingredients to sell their product. Increasingly people need to pay attention to everything applied to the skin, be it toothpaste or body foam. We love uncovering little knowledge nuggets, like toothpaste is a skin damaging product, leaving residue on the face, making it vital to cleanse after brushing teeth.
A good scent is worth a lot in natural bathing products, and we would recommend these scented candles, for an extra special bathing moment. They last at least double the time of regular candles, but remember you shouldn’t burn candles for longer than two hours!

Glycerin soap bars are increasingly sought after as they are reknowned as 100% natural soap. Coconut Oil is always labelled totally natural, despite the fact that it can come from refined oils. We always take the time to ensure the product is as natural as possible, always considering where the ingredients have come from. It is fascinating to learn where some oils have come from in the world.
